Sandhyaa Manoj as a Yogini

If Dance was her breathline, Yoga became her lifeline. Getting married to Manoj Kaimal was also her marriage into the philosophies and the teachings of yoga. Rooted in timeless yogic wisdom and refined through years of dedicated practice, Sandhyaa Manoj’s approach to yoga transcends the physical to embrace the union of body, mind, and spirit.

The Beginning of a Spiritual Path

For Sandhyaa Manoj, yoga is not just a practice — it is a way of being. Her introduction to yoga began alongside her dance training, where she discovered the profound connection between breath, movement, and consciousness. What started as a means to enhance physical flexibility soon evolved into a lifelong spiritual discipline, shaping her worldview and her teaching philosophy.

Through yoga, she found balance — the same inner stillness that defines her artistry as a dancer.

Integration of Dance and Yoga

One of Sandhyaa’s unique contributions to wellness education is her ability to bridge the ancient disciplines of Odissi and Yoga. Both, she believes, are rooted in awareness and devotion, one expressed through movement, the other through stillness.

Her signature workshops, such as Yoga Through Dance and Movement as Meditation, explore how body alignment, rhythm, and breath can lead to emotional release and self-discovery. This integration makes her teaching style deeply holistic and transformative, appealing to both artists and wellness enthusiasts alike.

Manasa Yoga School

In 2001, together with her husband Manoj Kaimal, Sandhyaa co-founded Manasa Yoga School in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. What began as a small yoga space has grown into one of Southeast Asia’s most respected centers for yoga and wellness education.

Through yoga, she found balance — the same inner stillness that defines her artistry as a dancer.

Retreats, Workshops & Global Engagements

Sandhyaa regularly conducts yoga retreats and teacher training programs in Malaysia, India, Singapore, and Europe, drawing participants from across the world. Her workshops often focus on:

  • Mindfulness in Motion
  • The Feminine Energy in Yoga
  • Dance as Moving Meditation
  • Balancing Strength and Surrender

These immersive experiences encourage participants to reconnect with their bodies, cultivate stillness, and rediscover their inner rhythm, echoing Sandhyaa’s lifelong message of grace through awareness.

Yoga as a Way of Life

To Sandhyaa, yoga is not confined to time or space — it is a continuous dialogue between mind and body, extending into how one lives, eats, speaks, and relates to others. Her daily life is an extension of her teaching: disciplined yet compassionate, structured yet intuitive.

She views yoga as both science and art, an ever-evolving practice of balance and self-realization.

“In dance, I express. In yoga, I experience. Both teach me the same truth, to live with awareness and love in every moment.”
